Reviewing
Peer reviewers evaluate scholarly work for its quality, validity, and originality. They provide feedback to the journal editor and authors on whether the work is accurate, well-written, and contributes to its field, suggesting whether it should be accepted, rejected, or revised before publication. This quality control process helps ensure that published materials are credible and meet ethical and academic standards.
You can register as a reviewer by selecting the "Yes, I would like to be contacted with requests to review submissions to this journal" checkbox at the bottom of the registration page. If you are already registered, go to your profile, click the "Roles" tab, and click the "Reviewer" box. Please provide your ORCiD, affiliation, and review interests.
Use of artificial intelligence in peer review
Reviewers are subject to the JSMCAH Artificial Intelligence Policy. Reviewers are strongly encouraged to conduct their initial evaluation of a manuscript without AI assistance. If AI is used to assist with subsequent review, that use must be disclosed to the editor, and AI-generated feedback must not be presented as the reviewer’s own expertise. Reviewers must protect manuscript and peer-review confidentiality and must not provide confidential content to AI systems where confidentiality cannot be assured.
